Marlborough is home to a large number of award-winning wineries Many of those wineries also have great restaurants and cafes. Take advantage of our Mediterranean climate to sit in the sun and indulge in our fine local produce with a bottle of good wine.
Fishing and Boating
The Marlborough Sounds are a marine wonderland. Drowned river valleys provide hundreds of bays and coves, many of which are only accessible by boat. They are a true boatie's paradise. Fishing charters and boat trips are available from Picton and Havelock.
Outdoors
Marlborough is blessed with a variety of places where you can just get away from it. Redwood Heights is conveniently located right at the start of walking tracks that are perfect to get out in the hills for an hour or two.
Aviation
The Omaka Aviation Heritage Centre was established to provide a world-class destination for the appreciation of historic aircraft.
The collection is managed by the 14-18 Aviation Heritage Trust, which is chaired by film director Peter Jackson, and has been brought to life in a series of theatrical dioramas constructed with the artistic talent and technical expertise of some of New Zealand's most talented storytellers.
Kaikoura
Kaikoura is world famous for whale watching and is home to a number of seal colonies and a huge variety of seabirds. If time permits you can take a day trip.
